Letter from Benjamin Smith Lyman to Sadajiro Sugiura
Description:
Lyman is pleased to hear that Sugiura arrived home and is already at work as a college lecturer. He reports that there has been no recent gathering of the Japanese Club, which is undergoing a reorganization to a more formal plan of elected membership and monthly contributions. Lyman is nostalgic for earlier days of more simple entertainments with the Japanese students. He reports on other gatherings and celebrations and notes that Mr. Wadamori has recently published his book on Mnemonics and lives next door to him at Mrs. Henry's house.
