At Mrs. Stilwell's: dancing and a flirtation with Miss Olie (a niece); at the Hopper's: the news of Miss Maria's return; at Mrs. Jackson's: a meeting with Frank Neale (a neglected acquaintace), and the observation that Miss Helen's engagement has improved her looks; and at the Bliss': the viewing of several paintings acquired at auction, and an observation on the improvement of the hosts' sense of aesthetics.
