Discusses arrival on campus in 1961 and first lodgings on campus. Took courses at Smith and Amherst and experienced compares dining and social experience at all three campuses. The 1962 "yogurt war:" large food fight in the cafeteria using yogurt as ammunition. Discusses civil rights organizing on campus and connections to the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and the Southern Leadership Council. Founding of a Students for a Democratic Society chapter on campus. Organizing a Five College Civil Rights Conference. Vietnam War protests from self study to public demonstrations during the fall and winter of 1965, protesting at the ROTC building (Dickinson Hall) and the center of Amherst. Weekend events at the Hatfield Barn, Hatfield Polish community. Campus teach-ins. Transition to the anti-nuclear movement. Graduation, move to Buffalo, then back to UMass for graduate school in 1967-1968, then eventually to Boston College for law school. Ends with community soap box at UMass.
