Letter, in good condition, no tears, slightly stained, from Mrs. F.K. Giler to Mr. Hill, no year indicated on letter. Letter appears to read: " North Boothbay. Nov 3rd Mr. Hill. I was pleased to hear of your safe arrival home. and also that your health continued good. I think it done you a great deal of good. we missed you very much after you were gone. but your song's can be heard at most any hour of the day by Winnie or some of the others(myself included.) your pole that you cut was used to get off the [unreadable word]. and we never go through the gate but we speak of you and the fstening you put there. and we often hear the children say. did it hurt you much while they are at play. also. say yes or no. iI have been alone five weeks last Monday. George has been home once in the time and staid over night. I think he will be home next week for good. but I do not know what he will do then. he say it is seventy-five miles from no-where where he is now. I was very much pleased with those Onion seedd and a thousand thanks for them. I also received the Vise. it came through and did not cost a cent-the freightman say he suppose'es it was so small the Captain thought it belonged to some passenger and that they laid it down and so it was not noticed. George has not seen it yet. but I know he will be pleased with it. it has been very cold here. but is quite mild now. it has rained for days. tho Small-Pox is at the harbor. three cases of it. one young man died of it last week. all the neighbors are just the same as when you were here. I must close wishing you well and good health. I remain your friend and well wisher yours truly Mrs F.K. Giler or Frannie your Pipe is safe. I will send it one these days. write again when convient."
