Pittsfield 116 --Caption title. Width of road: 25 ft. Traveled way: width 21 ft., grade 3 ft. per 100. Surface: crowned 3 in., fairly hard, a very little loose gravel and loam on top material: gravel, loam and sand sides: right, slopes down into gutter, then up, left, slopes down natural slope gutters: right, 2 ft. deep, left, natural slope sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A good road but for a little loose material on surface. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
