Description:
Cartoon of Phineas Gage in four pieces. Cartoon has image of Phineas Gage's skull with a crowbar protruding from it, and states that the skull and crow bar are on exhibition in the Harvard Medical Museum. Advertisement labels the story of Phineas Gage as "the most amazing accident that ever happened." There is an additional cartoon image of Phineas Gage during the accident, as well as a printed paragraph about the facts of the accident. Next to Phineas Gage cartoon is advertisement for "Western Steel & Wire Co."

This cartoon advertisement was created by the firm of Brown and Bigelow in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1947 for Ripley's Believe It or Not. It was found in a bookstore in Detroit, Michigan and donated to the Warren Anatomical Musuem in 2012.
