Withdrawing from a prior commitment to speak at the public library, in light of a recent incident concerning Regina Andrews, who was "denied, on account of color prejudice, opportunity for advancement at the New York Public Library" and whose case has been recently taken up by W. E. B. Du Bois: "I do not feel that I care to speak at the library until this situation is settled satisfactorily."
