Helen writes to Louisa about having the blues. She had a hard time settling back in at home and wonders if she should have ever left. The weather is very dark and rainy which she thinks suits people who are down-hearted. Helen then writes of a practical joke that she played on a friend. She found a duck without a head laying on the ground and decided to wrap it up nicely and add a card. She had it sent to him and is waiting for a response because she knows he would never let anything like that slide.
