Letter from Joel and Barbara Halpern to his parents during their time in Laos with the United States Operations Mission. This letter is in the form of an interview conducted by Halpern's translator, Aram Udol. Udol interviewed the "Tasseng's assistant", or the man second in charge of the district at the village of Ban Sankalot. He speaks of rice production, farming, and not trusting the government's fertilizer program, or veterinary injections of their farm animals.
