The Latino and Immigrants' Rights March was the first national rally in Washington, D.C., for equal rights for immigrants. The objectives of the march were to protest new laws that would cut off benefits to immigrants, to protect civil rights, and to establish immigration reform. The Chinese Progressive Association was one of many organizations to participate in this event.
