Overall in the program, Mario Valdes, a historian, producer, and writer, formerly with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Canadian Film Board, and the research staff of Say Brother, presents a compilation of segments he prepared between 1976 and 1978 for Say Brother's "Third World Connection" series. Valdes introduces and enriches the content presented in these original segments, which focuses on the genealogical impact and cultural contributions that Africa made to ancient Greek, Roman, Chinese, and Middle Eastern civilizations.
