Six letters by Hayden, a soldier in Co. B 60th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteers, written from Indianapolis to his sister Adaline P. Hayden in Quincy, Mass. Requests that his family send him grapes, speculates on when the regiment is to return to Boston, provides the lines to ""Just Before the Battle"", describes the punishment of two soldiers caught stealing money, etc. Donor included a typescript transcription of the letters and some genealogical material on Charles M. Hayden.
