<mods:abstract>Leather bound diary with ""James Cox / Journal book / Hind"" on the cover. Entries concern the date, winds, and remarks. The remarks include a general description of the weather (wind, strength, direction), his activities (knoting yarns, etc.), the activities of the crew (lowered top gallant yards, soundings, etc.), the food recived and expended, and brief notices of who came on board the ship. The journal covers a trip from England to Quebec and the return trip. These are the best images possible, due to the condition of the orginal manuscript. Blank pages were not scanned.</mods:abstract>
