This article discusses Springfield College alumnus Frederick Schultz, who worked as an athletic chief for the YMCA at Camp Cody during World War I. He organized an "all-Cody program of out door events and competitions." Furthermore, he made important additions to their volleyball and basketball equipment. The rest of the article focuses on the matches at the YMCA's boxing tryouts. Camp Cody was an army training facility named after Buffalo Bill and located in Deming, New Mexico. It was in operation only during World War I.
