Letter written by Joel Halpern to his parents during his trip to Europe in 1949. This letter describes his arrival in Europe by ocean liner to England. He arrives in Tilbury on the Thames Estuary and then proceeds into London by rail. He describes the industrial landscape along the outer Thames Estuary and then a number of places in central London including Picadilly Circus and St. James Park as well as Admiralty Arch.
