Adeline E. Hicks is shown standing outdoors, in Tucson, Arizona, 1981, and is 92 years old. Adeline Hicks was the Founder of the Women's Physical Education Program at Massachusetts Agricultural College and an early proponent of modern dance. She resigned in 1937 after 20 years of service, and in 1949 she retired to Arizona with her husband, Curry S. Hicks, where she became a composer.
