This section of field notes begins with page 11 - the previous pages are missing. Begin with notes on cooperative work, describing R's experience trying to find a job and Joel taking her to the principle's home. There are stories about the attitude of peasants towards customers, cutting wheat, the tensions in the household, lack of water at the house, the rendezvous with R's ex-husband, visiting the potter and Z's opinion of his daughter's situation. An interview with Z. includes discussion on the division of the cooperative family household, the land and inheritance, the price of produce, meat and other items, taxes, changes in agriculture and cars. The last page details the daily work schedule.
