Description:
Letter from Joel M. Halpern to his parents describing he and Barbara's time in Laos. He describes a birthday party dinner Barbara gave him. He also describes the celebrations for the Lao New Year. Halpern met Dr. Harold Jefferson Coolidge, Jr. when the later visited Louang Phrabang. Dr. Coolidge facilitated a meeting with the Crown Prince, who exhibited several royal treasures to Halpern, which he describes. The end of the letter refers to practical matters that he requested his parents to be deal with at home: the publication of Barbara's book, packages received and sent, income taxes, camera and film.
