Sepia-toned head and shoulders portrait of Charles A. Gleason (Trustee, 1889-1925) with muttonchop whiskers and with his eyes closed. Typewritten note on back reads: "Charles A. Gleason was appointed Trustee of the Massachusetts Agricultural College in 1889, which position he held until his death in 1928. Photograph made about 1923 by Frank A. Waugh." A second copy of the photograph has a notation on the back: "Charles A. Gleason, b. Feb. 7, 1846, D. Sept. 29, 1925. Trustee of this college for 36 years. 'A loyal friend and an exemplary citizen of the Commonwealth.' Lewis".
