Writing in response to McLendon's letters (mums312-b173-i273 and 275), Du Bois states his opinion of the Bricks School, noting that it "is poorly organized and poorly run. It is not modern. The students have no freedom;" clarifies that he believes "Inborden is a spendid man, of find character and great devotion to his work;" provides advice for what Inborden should do and suggests he find "the very best helpers possible and let them reform" Bricks; explains that "you can't hire a first class man and then treat him like a third class servant."
