Large, roughly oval shaped bandbox (.2a) of heavy cardboard, with wallpaper-like facing; predominant color light blue or aqua background with figures in beige, brown, white, and green; illustrated around the sides with outdoor scene of mother and 2 children/little boys and a large dog; mother wearing 1800-20 style dress and a turban, helping one son to sit on dog; other son holding leash attached to dog's collar; trees in background; same scene repeats on other side of box, and on top of lid (.2b); side panels have illustration of crossed arrow quivers tied with a bow, and 2 doves (?) with outstretched wings; interior and underside of lid lined with newspaper pages from the 1831 Boston Free Press.
