Letter from Frank 'Parky' Grace to Gloria Xifaras Clark
Description:
Has been working to transfer out of Walpole to anywhere else, but the board recommends only Norfolk. Has been sent to maximum after guards found a shank hidden behind his wall locker. Work with young people through Big Brothers and Association for Reduction of Violence (ARV).: plans to continue to work with youth and hopes to get involved with youth from New Bedford. Does not consider himself a martyr, but a survivor and wants freedom. In order to be involved in youth activities, Parky has had to compromise with the guards: "I had to eat all their shit and like it, yea with a smile and all. I don't like to give an inch. I've been that way most of my life, for as long as I can remember..." Anger at being under control of guards, compromising, having to give in.
