Bernard writes to Shirley about the past 24 hours where he expirenced a great deal of delay on arriving back to New York from Rome. He also informs Shirley that he had recived a letter from Robert expressing his happiness over the memorial services but was no about to make it to Accra because of financial issues. Bernard reasurres Shirley that the books she requested were sent out immediately however, they were not sent by Air Mail but by ordinary mail.
