U.S. (United States) or American flag. Hand stitched construction. Thirteen red and white stripes with each stripe sewn together. Blue rectangular panel of fabric taking up the upper left quadrant of the flag. Thirty-five white stars sewn onto blue fabric rectangle in upper left corner. Thirty-five stars are sewn on in five rows with seven stars in each row evenly spaced. Stars are irregular in shape as they are likely hand cut and handsewn. Last foot or so of all stripes on right-hand side appear to be either repaired or extended. Fabric is different in texture and in color. Left-hand border of flag is thicker rolled canvas to allow for fiber rope to string through for hanging. Dark brown rope visible at ends.
