This is an interview with Springfield College professor Dr. Allen Kaynor by Springfield College Alum and Professor Dr. Derek Paar conducted in the summer of 1985. The interview is conducted outside in a backyard. It was recorded on a VHS tape. The interview is mostly about his experience with Springfield College from his childhood through his time as a professor at the College. Mostly the interview is about the establishment and teaching counseling and psychology courses and the program at Springfield College.

Dr. Kaynor, a Yale University alumni, earned his Ed.D. in Guidance and Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University in 1959. Then he worked as a consultant in various state colleges. He was appointed as an auxiliary professor at Springfield in 1947, and got tenured as a full professor in 1959. Dr. Kaynor also acted as the Chairman of the Psychology Department from 1968 until at least 1983. Dr. Kaynor also acted as a Senator for the American Personnel & Guidance Association and as a Corporator for the BayState Medical Center.
