This is a copy of the invitation or acceptance notice for Springfield College student, Lance H. Lambdin, for attendance to the Beijing Sport University (at the time the Beijing Institute of Physical Education). The document is dated June 17, 1982. Written in Chinese, the document states (translation) "Mr. Lance H. Lambdin, welcome to visit Beijing from September 1st, 1982, to December 30th, 1982. Your application have been approved by Chinese Government, and you can come to the Chinese Embassy to issue your passport. Special notification. Beijing Sport University , June 17th, 1982. " Lance Lambdin was the first student from Springfield College to take courses at Beijing Sport University. He attended in the fall of 1982.

Beijing Sport University was organized and established as the Central Institute of Physical Education (sport) in 1953 with the help of Professor Xu Yingchao, Springfield College graduate of the class 1938. The name of the university changed to Peking (Beijing) Institute of Physical Culture (physical education) in 1956 and renamed Beijing Sports University in 1993. The first agreement signed by Springfield College and the Beijing Sport University was on September 25, 1981, which provided pathways for collaboration and exchange of faculty and students.
