Sephen E. Posner, an All-American Gymnast from the University of California at Berkeley, was the head coach of Springfield College from 1982 to 2017. Under Posner's direction during his 34 years as head coach (he did not coach during the 1990-91 season), the Springfield College men's gymnastics program has produced 171 All-America honors and 23 National Champions, won three-consecutive USA Collegiate Gymnastics (USAG) Championship from 1991-1993, while Posner himself was selected as the USAG and National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) Division II-III Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1993, and earned NCAA Eastern Regional Coach of the Year honors in 2002. Additionally, Posner Received the prestigious CGA Coaches Honor Award for his 25 years of meritorious service to the sport of gymnastics and earned NACGC East Region Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2009, before garnering Coach of the Year honors at the ECAC-EIGL Championships in 2012.
