Prior to attending Springfield College, Davey held the position of Assistant Secretary at the Young Men's Institute in New York. After Davey graduated from the Springfield College in 1894 he held the position of Secretary at the Rockland, Massachusetts YMCA facility from 1895 to 1896. From 1896 to 1907/08 he served as the boys's Secretary at the West Side Branch of the YMCA facility in New York City. In 1908/09, his last known year doing "Y" work, he served as the Secretary of the International Committee at the Maritime Province facility in Nova Scotia. Davey died January 10, 1941.
