On November 19, 1991, the Springfield College Men’s Basketball Team played the Soviet Union National Basketball Team as part of the 100th anniversary of the creation of basketball celebrations. It was also part of the Soviet’s tour that included playing University of Kentucky, University of North Carolina, Duke University and Indiana University. The team included half of the 1992 Russian Olympic team. Springfield College lost the game 92-86 in overtime before 1800 in the college’s Blake Arena.
