A photograph depicting visitors from the Sun Yat-Sen University(Zhongshan University) in Guangzhou, China to Springfield College. Visitors appear holding gifts in the picture. The photograph was taken in an office in Dean Malvina Rau’s office on October, 1997. This first visit occurred after an agreement was signed in 1996 between Springfield College (SC) and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) to provide training in sports medicine and conditioning and fitness, exchange of scholars and students from both schools. Standing in the picture left to right we can recognize: Hong Shi (Associate Dean, School of Education, SYSU), Yifan Su (Deputy Secretary, SYSU), Malvina T. Rau (Academic Dean and Provost, SC), Si Li (Associate director, PE Department, SYSU). Mr. Shi and Mr. Su appear holding gifts in the photograph. Notice the Native American painting in the background.
