International YMCA Training School foreign work pamphlet (1909)
Item Information
- Title:
- International YMCA Training School foreign work pamphlet (1909)
- Description:
-
A pamphlet about the foreign field of YMCA work. The pamphlet describes the work done abroad from the International YMCA Training School, now Springfield College. The College intended to prepare students from the United States and Canada who would work in ‘Y’ associations abroad, and to train students sent from other foreign countries. In the words of the author of the pamphlet, Dr. Laurence L. Doggett, “it is vital for the progress of Christ’s Kingdom among young men that leaders be sent out into non-Christian countries. It is also important for the permanent establishment of Christian work that native leaders who understand their own people shall be imbued with the missionary spirit and trained for service”. For more information on L.L. Doggett, see https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/589. Originally scanned in 2015, the document was rescanned in 2017. It is this scan that now lives in the Archives digital collections. The original date and naming system has been kept, because the jpg online is still from this 2015 scan;
