<mods:abstract>This Physical Department Circular, named “The Christian Physical Directorship” is believed to have been published in 1919 by the International, now Springfield College. The circular explains the importance of physical training and the demand for trained leaders in a post World War I world. The circular includes photographs of individuals that have been pioneers in the physical education world, and the infrastructure offered at the College. The circular also discusses the general course requirements and the technical courses, such as anatomy, physiology, and hygiene that must be taken as a basis. It then goes on to discuss the time required for training, the equipment available to students, the type of men that are desired as students at the school, the expenses, the entrance requirements, and a brief overview of the dormitory life. The circular thoroughly describes both the Physical Practice practice. The circular closes with a listing of each member of the secretarial department, and an overview of the summer school.</mods:abstract>
