  <mods:abstract>The physical department circular depicts the opportunities for a "Normal Christian Physical Education," offered by Springfield College, then the International YMCA Training School. The circular describes the equipment that the school has to offer, including pictures of the various equipment inside the gymnasium. The circular also discusses the college's policy and the instructors in the department, including Luther Gulick, James Naismith, and Frank Seerley. It then goes on to describe the general courses of study and the criteria to be admitted to the college, as well as expenses. The criteria includes: good character and earnest Christian purpose; good physique and health; and good English education. The circular then explains the principles of the department, a more in-depth description of the courses in theory, literature in physical training, required courses of study, and finally an alphabetical list of graduates.</mods:abstract>
