A program for the sixty first commencement ceremonies for the International YMCA College, now Springfield College, held in 1947. Although the school went by the name Springfield College at this time, its corporate name remained the International Young Men’s Christian Association College until 1954. This pamphlet starts by describing the program, including calendar, commencement dinner, prayers, presentation of diplomas, a list of the members of the graduating class and the school hymn and other songs. Howard A. Rusk, associate editor of the New York Times, gave the commencement address titled “The Casualties of Peace”. Honorary degrees were conferred to William Richard Barry, Frank Stanley Beveridge, and William Burger (Master of Humanics). Also, honorary degrees were conferred to Carroll Lee Bryant and Ellis Howard Champlin (Master of Physical Education).
