Volume 1 Number 32 of The Gazette of Amherst College, a newspaper established by the College due to the suspended publication of the Amherst Student in 1943. The paper served as a "channel of communication to the Faculty and students of the College, and to the officers and men of the Military and Naval units on the campus." The Gazette was issued weekly (with a few exceptions) from June 1943 to June 1944 when it was replaced as the college newspaper by The Jeff. Entries included articles on College and war news, notices, campus directories, editorials, and Amherst Theater showtimes. The editors of the Gazette at this time were Arthur Davenport and Charles E. Bennett.
