Description:
Roswell D. Hitchcock letter to Amherst College President Edward Hitchcock in which Roswell writes to ask Edward to reconsider declining to preach the sermon Roswell had asked him to give on the 19th. He asks him to dispose of his engagements at the College so that he can be there on the 19th, elaborates on his feelings in this regard, and then goes on to write regarding the 27th. He states that he is sorry that Thanksgiving week is the same as with Edward and so a council could not be assembled either on that day or the day before. He closes by expressing his respect and affection towards Edward.
