Notes by Edward Hitchcock on the first chapter of the book of Genesis, in which Hitchcock writes down several questions about the interpretation of certain verses in the chapter, with citations to texts that deal with some of these questions. Hitchcock also includes his own arguments for and against certain interpretations of the text. These notes may have been intended for a sermon or for a course on religion.
