Lecture notes by Edward Hitchcock on botany. Hitchcock discusses the plant anatomy, plant reproduction, plant classification, the geography of plants, things that affect plant health and growth, and poisonous plants. He includes a few pages of notes on [John] Lindley's "An Introduction to Botany" and discusses the Linnaean taxonomy system in depth. Interspersed throughout Hitchcock has made notes to himself to dissect or show different types of plants to demonstrate what he is presenting or to show classroom drawings.
