Edward Hitchcock lecture notes on agricultural colleges
Description:
Notes by Edward Hitchcock apparently intended for a speech to an agricultural society (possibly the Norfolk Agricultural Society) about the importance of agricultural schools in Massachusetts. Hitchcock notes that the state has agreed to support such schools but is waiting for the citizens to ask for them. He emphasizes that the society should take the lead on this, and compares the state of agricultural studies in Europe to Massachusetts.
