<mods:abstract>An unattributed engraving of "The Death of General Wolfe." The engraving depicts twelve soldiers and one Native American in the foreground of a battlefield, surrounding the dying General James Wolfe. A crowd of mournful soldiers stands in the background. The engraving appears to be a copy either of a well-known one executed by William Woollett or of an original painting by Benjamin West.</mods:abstract>
<mods:note type='date'>The date range provided is based on the year of an original painting by Benjamin West and the year William Woollett made an engraving from that painting.</mods:note>
