A letter from Edward Hitchcock, Jr. to his father Edward Hitchcock describing his arrival in London, his current lodgings, and his impressions of Richard Owen, biologist and comparative anatomist. Hitchcock, Jr. expresses his interest in visiting Scotland and his eagerness to return home to America. There is also a penciled note in an unidentified hand forwarding Hitchcock, Jr.'s letter to an additional recipient.
