A letter from Edward Hitchcock, Jr. to his father Edward Hitchcock expressing his anger that the Amherst College Board of Trustees appointed a Professor of Hygiene without his father's approval. Edward Hitchcock, Jr. describes his plans to leave for Liverpool and requests that his father write him letters of introduction to Sir Richard Owen, Edwards, and others.
