A letter from Massachusetts Governor Edward Everett to Edward Hitchcock thanking him for sending mineral specimens. Everett requests additional specimens of garnet and beryl, and asks Hitchcock to send a copy of a newspaper containing some of his published geological observations. Everett expresses concern for Hitchcock's ailing health.
