Description:
A letter to an unidentified recipient in which Edward Hitchcock responds to an inquiry about bulk purchase of the fourth edition of his book, "Elementary Geology." Hitchocck explains the issues he has had with his publisher in getting a new edition printed, and urges the recipient to wait until the new version is out to purchase for his academy. A catalogue of the students at Amherst College is mentioned in a postscript.
