Description:
A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman, Jr. discusses geological specimens that Hitchcock sent to him recently. Silliman, Jr. says he cannot pay cash for the specimens due to overspending on the Mineralogical and Geological Cabinet remodel. However, Silliman, Jr. will send back a box of different specimens, equal in value, in lieu of cash payment. He lists the items sent by Hitchcock, with prices, and the items he will send back, with prices.
