An account of expenses by Edward Hitchcock incurred during a portion of his geological survey of Massachusetts and owed to him by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The account lists expenses incurred between October 1837 and March 1838. Expenses listed include soil analysis, supplies, horse and wagon, and personal expenses for Hitchcock and his assistant, among others.
