Hand-knit girls' fancy stockings, knee-high. Knit in ecru cotton at a gauge of 12 stitches/inch. Cuff and foot are stockinette stitch. Leg and top of foot are feather-and-fan stitch, with red embroidery added after stockings were knit. Top of cuff as 1/3 inch of 2 x 2 ribbing. Stockings were knit cuff-down, with a heel flap and three lines of decrease at the toe. Heels are reinforced and may have been replaced. Sole of one stocking has been darned.
