Older girl or teenager's dress of sheer, cream colored linen or cotton, with allover eyelet embroidered dots in two sizes; larger, slightly raised dots have needlework fills in grid or mesh pattern; wide ruffled turndown collar, castellated around bottom and edged with lace tape; also insertion of same lace in sawtooth or sunburst pattern around neck on same; short, puffed sleeves, with same ruffle and lace around bottom on each; bloused front bodice, gathered in at neck and waistband; gathered in at same on back on either side of opening; dropped waist with wide band insertion of floral and geometric patterned lace; short flared/gored skirt, gathered in under and around waistband; same castellated lower edge, insertion and lace as collar around bottom of skirt; plain waistband would have been covered by sash or belt; sewn-in petticoat/underskirt, with lace edged ruffle around bottom; upper back opening, with 4 mother-of-pearl button closure on bodice, and hook & eye closure at neck and waist. Fabric described as cotton batiste eyelet, and dress dated ca. 1915.
