The First Catalogue and Second Statement of The School for Christian Workers for the academic year 1885-1886. It was published in November, 1885. On the reverse side of the title page is the date of incorporation of the School, January 28, 1885, followed by an academic Calendar for 1885-1886, list of Board of Trustees with officers and committees, statements of the Design/purpose and Control of the School, list of instructors, lecturers, and special lecturers and a list of students. The remaining sections include The Course of Study, Departments of Instruction with courses listed by year, Terms of Admission and Expenses, Examinations, Religious Services, Employment for Graduates, Location information, Form of Scholarship and Form of Bequest, and Testimonials about the School from those with experience in Christian work. The familiar sketch of the building under construction at Winchester Square with Hope Chapel in the background where students were meeting for classes appears in the opening pages of the catalogue. The caption includes a description of the anticipated completion date and contents of the building.
