Rhea must have been surprised to get Clint's letter, but he has been thinking of her and is glad she is having a good time in Davenport. He will be leaving camp soon but he does not where he will be going or how long it will take him to write again. The longer it is, the longer the letter he expects her to write him. He hopes she will take him down from any pedestal she's put him on. He's proud of Boyd, who quit his promising career at the bank to join the National Guard and will be at Camp Dodge soon.
